Avoid changing date on data import

When you import data from a file into EMDI and update existing records, each row’s modification date (Modification) is usually refreshed.

This matters because database sync and other features rely on that date. Changing it unnecessarily can disrupt synchronization.

How to keep it unchanged

There is no separate checkbox. When mapping columns:

  1. Map an empty column (or a column with empty values) to the Modification field.
  2. On update of an existing record, if the cell is empty, the existing modification date is kept as it was.

Notes

  • This mainly applies when you replace / update existing records.
  • If the Modification column contains a date value, that value is written as the new modification date.
  • For document imports (purchases/sales), the modification date is protected automatically.
  • Warehouse note: the price date field (Date / Hmeromhnia) may still update to now when prices change — that is a different field from Modification.
