Mass field change lets you set the same value on selected fields for many customers or suppliers at once, without opening each record one by one.
Who uses it
Anyone who manages the customer / supplier list and needs to update shared details (relation, VAT, price list, credit limit, payment method, and so on) on many selected records.
Before you start
- Open the customer list in EMDI.
- Select the customers or suppliers you want to change (you can select many).
- From the Edit menu, unlock editing: turn off Lock customers/suppliers from deletion (you will be asked to confirm). Without unlocking, mass field change stays unavailable.
Screen
The Bulk items change window shows one row per field: the value on the left and a checkbox on the right. Only checked fields are updated. When ready, click Modify now.
Steps
1. Select the customers you want to change. From Edit, unlock editing.
2. From Edit, choose Bulk fields change of selected items.
3. In the window, set the values and check only the fields to update. Click Modify now and confirm. The change cannot be undone.
Fields you can change in bulk
- Relation
- VAT liability
- Tax obliged — No / Yes
- Price list — you can also clear it with the button next to the list
- Credit limit — an empty value clears the limit
- Payment method
- by user — you can also clear it with the button next to the list
- Status
- Reward Exemption — No / Yes
- Custom field — up to four: choose which custom field and enter the Value. The button next to the value lets you pick from values already used on customers
Everyday use
- Check only the fields that must change; everything else stays as it is.
- After you confirm, a progress window runs until all selected records are updated.
- When it finishes, the list selection is cleared and the list refreshes.
Tips
- Mass change cannot be undone — double-check the selection and the checked fields before you click Modify now.
- For price list and user, the button next to the list leaves the field empty on the selected records.
- For custom fields, changing which field you picked clears the value so you do not keep the wrong content.
- Press Esc to close the window without applying changes.
