In EMDI you can create appointments and reminders from the Appointments/Reminders window. Use it for a contact calendar, on-screen alerts, email/SMS, and — when an appointment is linked to a document — for automatic re-issuing of documents.
Open Appointments/Reminders (from the EMDI main menu, if the related program is installed). You have two main tabs: List and Detailed. In the detailed view there are Week and Month sub-tabs, and you can choose Week, All users, or Days with users.

To create a new appointment, click Add, or double-click an empty time slot in the week calendar / a day in the monthly calendar. The New appointment/reminder window opens. To edit an existing one, double-click it — it opens as Edit selected appointment/reminder.
If you see the question «Create a new document?», Yes opens Sales to issue a linked document; No continues to the appointment dialog.
In the window, fill in at least the following:
- Date of start and until (end time — default from settings, usually 30 minutes). With All day, the entry becomes a full-day event.
- Notes for the appointment content.
- Customer/Supplier/Contact: type and press Enter to search (optional). You can open the customer module from the related button and add up to 10 extra contacts.
- Repeat: e.g. never, every day, every week, every month, every year, or custom. Repeat shows the appointment multiple times on the calendar; it is separate from the alert.
- Remind / reminder setup: set when you should be notified before the start (minutes, hours, days, months, or years). Use X to clear the alert. The reminder time cannot be after the appointment start time.
- If there are multiple users: from user and to user.
- Category (appointment type), if you use categories.
Save with Save and exit. From the same window you can also print the appointment, send email/SMS manually, open or create a New document, or open the Related document when a link exists.
A reminder can also be created from Sales via the Reminder field (Issue repeat bar) — see Automatic document issuance.
When the reminder time arrives and Appointments/Reminders is open, EMDI can show an on-screen notification and — if configured — send email or SMS automatically. For message texts see Change the texts of sending emails, sms of appointments/reminders. For SMS setup: routee.net or liveall.eu.
